This painting was inspired by the remarkable story of Dave Roome taking his 74(F) Squadron F.6 Lightning in a zoom climb to just shy of 88,000ft over Singapore back in 1968.
The original painting was part of the 2024 Guild of Aviation Artists’ annual exhibition and is now in a private collection.
