This painting was inspired by a grainy video I saw of Buccaneers on exercise out of Gibraltar flying incredibly low over the sea. I knew these aircraft had a reputation for low-level stability but this film really brought home what an amazing aircraft this was, and why they was so admired by those who flew and maintained them.
The original painting was exhibited and sold at the 2017 Guild of Aviation Artists’ Annual Summer Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.
