This painting was inspired by a story told to me by a Phantom pilot who said the only aircraft he couldn’t get his sights on was a Buccaneer down in its element at low level. This really brought home to me what an amazing aircraft this was, and why they were so admired by those who flew and maintained them.
The original painting was exhibited and sold at the 2018 Guild of Aviation Artists’ Annual Summer Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.
